WebI beat Gael on my first try out of sheer intuition. He's hard but very similar to other bosses from DS3 so I'd consider him pretty easy if you play patiently. On the contrary, Midir whooped my ass at least 20 times because of his insane health pool and wide hitboxes. I'd consider Midir to be the tougher boss by a hairs length.
