Web20 jun. 2015 · Irish round towers stand majestically all over Ireland. They are early medieval, stone towers with a small door or opening, usually positioned high above the ground. Access was by ladder. The are mainly found in Ireland. However there are two located in Scotland, and one on the Isle of Man. The round tower is built on a large rocky outcrop, and has a unique 5 meter high hexagonal base. The tower rises to a height of 20 meters and is round from the hexagonal section up.
